Piano Lessons

Tom began taking piano lessons at an early age, and, while in his early teens, added voice, performance and musical theater to his list of musical interests. As an undergraduate student at Calvin College, Tom studied music composition and piano performance. He also served as an organist and pianist for a variety of churches, including Olivet United Methodist and Church of the Servant. While working towards his Bachelor in Education, Tom was a vocal coach and piano accompanist for many students and provided piano accompaniment for other students’ voice lessons, senior voice and band recitals.

Upon graduating from Calvin, Tom attended graduate school at Grand Valley State University, where he earned his Masters in Education. After moving to Santa Cruz CA, Tom became more involved with Jazz, Kuumbwa and Urban Gospel music. Tom participated in the National How Sweet The Sound competition with the award winning Jubilee Choir, played with several churches in the Bay Area and taught piano.

Tom’s initial background is classical performance-based and teaching music is where his true passion lies. Tom is excited to offer piano lesson from his home in Fort Myers, Florida. His philosophy is: I love music because music enhances all aspects of a person’s life, teaching a person to play and love music is awesome!

Lessons are 25 dollars for a 30 minute piano / music lesson.
